Neuromodulators such as Botox and others are anti-wrinkle injections used to treat wrinkles that are created by movement in the face. The 11’s (lines between the eye brows), the frown lines (forehead lines), and crow’s feet, and more can all be treated using Botox injections. Frequent, small doses of Botox to a variety of areas of your face will create a youthful, refreshed appearance.
When neuromodulators are injected into muscles under your facial skin, they block the chemicals that trigger the muscle contractions that cause facial expressions and pull your skin into folds and wrinkles. As your facial muscles relax, your skin follows suit, and your wrinkles and fine lines diminish.
You will begin your treatment with a comprehensive consultation. We will examine your skin and talk with you about your skin concerns and lifestyle to identify the best treatments for you.
We will then start by cleaning your face and gently mark the planned injection sites. Most do not require an anaesthetic as the needles used are tiny and most people compare the injections to a mosquito bite, but if you have sensitive skin or a fear of needles, we can apply a cold compress or topical numbing cream to ensure your comfort.
Results can fully be appreciated at 2 weeks and should last up to 3-4 months.

Botox is NOT indicated if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you are allergic to any ingredients, or suffer from a neurological disorder.
We will go over your after care instructions before leaving the office. There is essentially no down time after the procedure. It is best to avoid alcohol to decrease risk for bruising, and avoid activities which may result in distant spread of the medication such as strenuous exercise or laying down for 3-4 hours after injections, and facials or massages for 3 days after treatment.
Follow up appointments are recommended in 2 weeks time.
